REVIEW: Stayed in the Hyatt from 31 May, 2009 to 7 June, 2009 with our 2 and 5 year old kids. Got two connecting rooms; Hyatt has a wonderful family plan, you pay only half price for the second room.
The rooms we had were a little disappointing : when booking, we have asked for Seaview rooms. We were told that connecting rooms are not available as direct Seaview rooms, only as court view or partial sea view. Opted then for the more expensive partial sea view - just to note after arriving that our rooms were directly facing the Beach Blvd, lots of traffic and noise and - even worse, the view of a power plant straightforward from our balcony. You do not really get any beach feelings when sitting on this balcony. I guess that even with courtyard view rooms you are better off than with a room in this wing. Avoid the "5-wing" (south west wing) of the building (rooms with numbers 25... or 35...) with impair room numbers (pair room numbers such as 3526, 3528... are fine. They are directed to the other side, not to Beach Boulevard, and not to the power plant).
Other than that the hotel met all of our expectations. Hotel has a great Slyders pool area with 3 waterslides for kids - and they just loved it! They have another pool which is more on the quiet side. Beach is a short walk over a bridge that crosses PCH.
Every morning, we had breakfast in the restaurant, was ok during the week, excellent at weekends when they were serving a wonderful buffet. Had dinner at their restaurant, too. Very good, reasonably priced.
Love to come back, would just make sure that we will get a room / rooms in a different wing.
